Two decades in the oil sands

Our story

With more than 25 years in the oil and gas sector, Paddy Kachur realized there was a need for a more efficient way of renting equipment.

Becoming a Journeyman Electrician in 2005, Paddy has gained first-hand field experience in construction and oil sand industries. Through his various maintenance roles, Paddy recognized some gaps in service and availability of certain rental equipment.

He aims to provide equipment rentals with a focus on tailored customer needs for each job, so the equipment selected can be best utilized.

Giving Back to Community

Paddy Kachur is Founder of Kachur Rentals but also wears many other hats.

He’s a father of five, an oilsand worker, business owner, Métis Local 1935 and community member, and leader in philanthropy. Patrick is a proud supporter of the annual Wood Buffalo United Way campaign, and is an advocate for contributing to the well-being of our entire region.

In a 2023 YMM Online Magazine interview, Paddy recounts his thoughts:

“I’ve always been a fan of philanthropy. It’s a form of tithing. It feels good to help out but sometimes you don’t know how or where the help is needed. That’s why I was attracted to donate to the United Way - they know the community needs better than I do, and can direct the money where it’s needed most.”

“This community has also been so inspiring… people coming together and helping during floods and fires, and the philanthropy of many entrepreneurs…”

As an individual donor, Patrick ranks amongst the highest year after year. He looks forward to providing community support with Kachur Rentals.
